CMJL Yangzhou named two 25,000 dwt duplex stainless steel chemical tankers in parallel

On March 5th, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou (CMJL Yangzhou) held a naming ceremony for two 25,000 dwt duplex stainless steel chemical tankers which were built for Belgian shipowner CMB. Mrs. Buysschaert Laetitia, the godmother of CMB, named 3#25,000t duplex stainless steel chemical tanker as “BOCHEM CASABLANCA” and 4#25,000t duplex stainless steel chemical tanker as “BOCHEM SHANGHAI”.


The 25,000 dwt duplex stainless steel chemical tanker is of single engine, single pulp and double hull. With an overall length of 158.98 meters and a beam of 27 meters, it is mainly used for transporting refined oil, vegetable oil and IMO-II&III chemicals. It is equipped with 9 pairs of bi-directional stainless steel cargo tanks and 1 pair of bi-directional stainless steel foul liquor tanks, each equipped with 1 hydraulic deep well pump. It can load 91℃ and specific gravity not more than 1.85t/m3 cargos, with maximum loading rate of 3200 m3/h and maximum unloading rate of 1780 m3/h.

Meanwhile, the new shipbuilding equipped with one MAN 5S50ME-C9.7 main engine with a rated power of 4,734KW and a high-efficiency propeller and flap rudder, with a design speed of 14 knots. The main engine and generator set are equipped with SCR system, and the emission meets IMO Tier III requirements, while its EEDI meets the requirements of Phase III.
