BOMESC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd (Bomesc) held a Steel Cut ceremony for the FPSO RAIA Topside project a few days ago.

The FPSO RAIA Topside project is located in the southern part of the Campos Basin in a giant frontier area, about 200 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a water depth of 2,900 meters.

This FPSO is designed to store 2 million barrels of oil and has a capacity of up to 126,000 barrels of oil per day as well as 16 million m3 of natural gas. It will feature a recirculating gas turbine, which significantly reduces carbon emissions during operation.

Bomesc’s main scope of work was the detailed design, fabrication design, material procurement and construction of the 17 modules of the topside of the FPSO.
