Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry kicked off a 7,500 ceu LNG dual-fuel PCTC

On March 5, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(XSI), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding, held a Steel Cutting Ceremony for for the first PCTC (XSI463K) of the 7,500 ceu LNG dual-fuel PCTC series built for Japan’s Santoku Shipbuilding Co.

XSI463K is one of the six 7,500 ceu dual-fuel ro-ro vessels signed by Fujian Shipbuilding with Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping and Japan’s Santoku Shipbuilding in November 2022. And this is the first new shipbuilding of the series to start construction. The PCTCs in the series will be delivered from 2025 to 2026.

With an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a design draught of 8.65 meters and a maximum draught of 10 meters, the vessel is mainly used for the transportation of various types of vehicles including passenger cars, trucks and construction machinery. It adopts LNG dual-fuel main engine, single bow thruster, electric RORO system, and is equipped with 13 vehicle decks in the cargo hold.

This PCTC is designed to meet the TIER III emission standards of the IMO, and features dual-fuel hybrid power and various environmental protection technologies, which will greatly reduce the emissions of sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, particulates and carbon dioxide during operation, making it a new type of professional and environmentally friendly car carrier.
