K Shipbuilding signs contract for a 50,000 dwt product carrier

Greece’s Chemnav Shipmanagement has returned to South Korea’s K Shipyard (formerly STX Offshore & Shipbuilding) to sign a newbuilding contract for a 50,000 dwt product carrier, according to Trade Winds.

With this latest order, Chemnav’s order book at K Shipbuilding increases to three units, all scheduled for delivery in 2025.

In June 2023, K Shipbuilding entered into a contract with Chemnav Shipmanagement for the construction of two 50,000 dwt MR tankers with a total value of approximately $94 million and a single tanker cost of approximately $47 million.

The two new shipbuildings are of LNG-ready design with desulphurization towers and are scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2025.
