Yu Chai Marine Powe Wins Contract for Two 6S35ME-C9.7-HPSCR Main Engines

On March 4, Yu Chai Marine Power Co., LTD. (YMP) held a signing ceremony for two sets of 6S35ME-C9.7-HPSCR main engine for the 13,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers.

Since the beginning of 2024, YMP has signed a total of 16 main engines with XMXYG Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd.(XMXYG SOE), Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, Zhejiang Mingfei Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. (Jinglu Shipyard), China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co., Ltd and Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd with a total contract amount of more than RMB 440 million yuan (about USD 61.12 million).

Founded in 2009, Yu Chai Marine Powe is licensed to manufacture Win GD and MAN two-stroke engines. It can produce and manufacture YCMP-Win GD series and YCMP-MAN B&W series marine low-speed engines, with an annual capacity of 110 units/1.2 million horsepower. The products are widely used in various types of vessels, such as bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, engineering vessels, large fishing vessels etc.

The company’s first marine low-speed engine was successfully started on November 11, 2011. And in June 2015, the world’s first 5RT-flex50DF dual-fuel low-speed engine produced by the company was successfully delivered and put into commercial operation.
