On February 27th, Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. delivered the No.3 37,000 dwt asphalt tanker ahead of schedule. The godmother, Mrs. Jessica, named the ship “ASPHALT TANKER”.
With an overall length of 179.9m, a beam of 30.6m and a depth of 16.8m, ASPHALT TANKER can carry 37,000 tons of asphalt in a single voyage. It meets SOLAS convention, adopts winGD main engine and HSD low pressure SCR, and the treated exhaust gas meets the requirement of of Emission III.
The system of whole cargo tanks adopts 2 sets of thermal oil boilers for heating, which can control the temperature constant at 135 degrees to ensure the safety of asphalt cargo.
The liquid cargo system is equipped with advanced equipments, while the barge system is simplified for convenient use and maintenance. The pipelines between different cargoes are isolated by double valves, with strong safety. Also, it adopts vertical frequency conversion cargo oil pump, which is easy to install, and the barge volume is controlled by frequency conversion, which can realize all the functions of barge and sweeping, and reduce the cost of equipments and maintenance.
It is reported that 37,000 dwt asphalt tanker is currently the world’s largest asphalt tanker. Previously, Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou) delivered two units of the same type, which won the order from VITOL with green energy saving, high operational efficiency and excellent shipping economy.
