On February 27, the third 14,100 TEU container ship (N1067) , constructed by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) Co.,Ltd. for COSCO Shipping Lines, was named “COSCO Shipping Uruguay” successfully.
With an overall length of 335.9 meters and a beam of 51 meters, COSCO SHIPPING Uruguay is equipped with the world’s largest capacity-class permanent magnet shaft generator system, 100% fresh air conditioning and enthalpy wheel energy recovery system, and the main engine adopts an atmospheric direct air intake system to reduce energy consumption, which can reduce carbon emissions by about 5.9%.
It is the third unit of the series of six 14100TEU container ships. This ship type has the advantages of advanced design, low carbon and environmental protection, economy and energy saving. The performance of this container ship has reached the world-class level in terms of speed and fuel consumption, and it is one of the most competitive ship types in current container ship market.
It is reported that the first container ship of this series, “COSCO Shipping Brazil”, recently completed its maiden voyage and achieved zero defects in port PSC inspection.
