On Monday (February 19th), Imabari Shipbuilding Hiroshima Shipyard officially delivered the 5,800 TEU container ship “OOCL BREMERHAVEN”.
OOCL BREMERHAVEN is 254.94m in length, 40m in breadth, 21.70m in depth and 57907 tons in gross tonnage. It is equipped with 6G80ME-C10.6 engine, speed about 21.5 knots, classed by American Bureau of Shipping(ABS) and flying Liberian flag.
Imabari Shipbuilding said the 5,800 TEU container ship can carry about 5,920 standard containers and is equipped with up to three lashing bridges on deck, allowing it to carry a large number of reefer containers in the holds and on deck, as well as a wide range of hazardous cargoes as stipulated in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code.
In order to comply with NOx Tier III regulation for the air pollution prevention, this vessel is equipped with the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) for main engine and also equipped with the select catalyst reduction system (SCR) for generator engines. She achieves high propulsion performance by applying the energy-saving devices, high efficiency propeller and low friction paint for outer hull plating, and her EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) greatly surpasses the rule requirement.
As part of environmental conservation efforts, the container ship installed ballast water treatment systems and inventory lists in accordance with the Ship Recycling Convention.
