On 7th February, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. CMJL (Weihai) delivered ALA’SUINU (Hull No. W0279), the 10th high-end ro-pax vessels of the E-Flexer series built for Stena RoRo, 19 days ahead of schedule.
According to the report, ALA’SUINU is the 10th of the 13 Stena E-Flexer series vessels built for Stena in CMJL (Weihai), and the first high-end ro-pax vessel delivered to MAI.
With an overall length of 202.9 metres, a beam of 27.8 metres, a design draught of 6.6 metres and a service speed of 23 knots, ALA’SUINU can be used to load various types of vehicles such as cars and trucks.
The ro-pax vessel is equipped with 146 staterooms and 486 sets of luxury recliners and can carry up to 1,000 passengers. It is equipped with bars, lounges, shops, a children’s playground, a petting zoo, a sun deck and other public entertainment venues. And the latest accessibility standards are adopted to greatly enhance the passenger experience.
The vessel adopts aluminium alloy superstructure for the first time, which greatly reduces the weight of the hull and increases the safety. The vessel’s design meets the Canadian Disability Code and other relevant requirements. It is the first ro-pax vessel in the world to meet the highest level of network security requirements, which greatly protects the information security of the vessel and passengers.
Moreover, the vessel meets the requirements for underwater noise control, which satisfies the requirements of the marine environment and harbour waterways. It is fitted with an LNG dual-fuel system while adding an auxiliary battery system, which is a typical representative of the new generation of ro-pax vessels in terms of safety, comfort, greenness and environmental protection.
