SMDERI signed batch order for shaft generator systems

Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research institute (SMDERI) and GREENTEC MARINE signed a batch order about shaft generator systems for 6 sets of conversion ships and 5 sets of new shipbuildings .

Under this contract, SMDERI will provided 900kW split-half shaft generator systems for two 206,000 DWT bulk carriers retrofit project of Belgian shipowner CMB. This is the third cooperation between the two parties. Previously, CMB had ordered two batches of 18 shaft generator systems projects for newbuilding.

The shaft generator systems of SMDERI does not need to dismantle or replace the original shaft system, is convenient and quick to hoist, and has a short transformation cycle, which has obvious advantages in transformation cost, transformation cycle, and operational reliability and repairability. As for newbuildings, the structure of shaft generator systems can be flexibly adapted to the construction programme, reducing construction difficulties.
