Nippon Shipbuilding Delivered A 64,000 DWT Bulk Carrier

On 2nd February, Nippon Shipbuilding delivered the 64,000 DWT bulk carriers “SSI PHOENIX”.

Classed by NK, SSI PHOENIX has an overall length of 199.90 metres, a breadth of 32.24 metres and a depth of 19.30 metres, and is fitted with a 6S50ME-C9.7 main engine with a speed of 14 knots.

This is a handymax-sized bulk cargo ship that is subject to the Common Structural Rules (CSR BC &OT). Each cargo has a topside tank and a hopper tank are installed in each cargo and has a structure suitable for loading solid bulk cargo, and has enhanced capacity. In addition, four cranes are installed on the deck, and loading can be performed even in ports where loading equipment is not in place.

In addition to grains and coal, as well as high-graved cargo such as iron ore and cement, as well as product cargo such as steel coils and long steel products, it also applies to the International Maritime Solid Clothing Code (IMSBC Code) and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code). It supports various cargoes.

It is equipped with equipment that satisfies the various rules for air pollution prevention under the Marine Pollution Control Treaty (MAPOL) to prevent air pollution. In particular, regarding the carbon dioxide emission control index, we anticipate not only the current requirements (Phase 2) but also the Phase 3 requirements required for ships built from 2025 onward. In addition, we also have a ballast water treatment system and an inventrious list based on the Ship Recycling Convention.

The bulk carrier achieved high promotion performance by adopting energy-saving adducts and high-efficiency propellers, and outer hull coatings to reduce friction and resistance with seawater.
