On 2 February, China Yangtze Shipping Group and Zhijiang Shengmao Shipyard signed a contract for the design and construction of two 130-metre LNG and methanol vessels.
The 130-metre LNG micro-pilot-powered vessel and the 130-metre methanol dual-fuel dry bulk carrier are both demonstration research projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China for 2030 high-tech power vessels, which is an important initiative for China Yangtze Shipping Group to demonstrate the creation of the first large-scale clean energy fleet on the Yangtze River.
The construction of the two clean energy vessels will further promote the capacity structure adjustment and upgrading of the shipping company.
