Milestones for Bernhard Schulte Offshore CSOVs

Two commissioning service operation vessels (CSOV) under construction for Germany-based Bernhard Schulte Offshore have reached milestones. The steel cutting and keel laying ceremonies for yno 321 and 320, respectively, were arranged at the Crist hull yard, Poland, on January 30, 2024.

The Ulstein SX22 is designed for a length of 89.6 metres and a beam of 19.2 metres, with 110 single occupancy cabins on board for a maximum occupancy of 132 persons throughout the vessel, and a 3D crane with a lifting capacity of 5 tonnes.

The vessel adopts a battery hybrid propulsion system and is ready for future methanol-powered upgrades. To achieve better vessel stability and optimise the dynamic response between the vessel and key equipment, the vessel has an active compensating trestle designed to be located in the middle of the vessel.

The two Ulstein-designed CSOVs are characterized by the TWIN X-STERN feature, implementing fore and aft main propeller units for excellent dynamic positioning characteristics.

The hulls will be prepared at Crist before being towed to Ulstein Verft in Norway for the final phases, which include outfitting, paint work, electrical installation, equipment integration, commissioning and sea trial.
