Jiangnan Shipyard Delivers 93,000 cbm VLGC Ahead of Schedule

On January 29th, Jiangnan shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Corporation, named and delivered the 93,000 cbm Very Large Gas Carrier (93K VLGC) “GAS NOUVEAU BAUHINIA” one month ahead of schedule.

The 93, 000 cbm VLGC is the fourth generation VLGC of Panda 93P, which is independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard. With an overall length of 230 meters, a beam of 36.6 meters, and a service speed of 16.5 knots, the VLGC adopts the fourth-generation patented line shape (VS-Bow MK-IV), which provides excellent and balanced performance under full load, ballast, and different specific gravity liquid cargo loading conditions.

Moreover, it can still ensure the cargo capacity of the port under the premise of using LPG fuel throughout the main routes, and its performance indexes such as speed and fuel consumption are at the leading level in the industry, making it a “future-type” green ship.

It is reported that over the past three years, Jiangnan Shipyard has been the most outstanding in the global market of VLGC and its derivative VLEC (Very Large Ethane Carrier). By now, the market share of “China Jiangnan-type” 99,000 cbm VLEC is more than 90%; the market share of the fourth-generation 93,000 cbm VLGC is 100%.
