On January 27, the 9,100 CEU ro-ro ship built by China Merchants Heavy Industries Haimen shipyard (CMHI Haimen shipyard) left the dock smoothly.

The ro-ro ship has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 196.4 meters, a width of 37.6 meters, a depth of 14.53 meters and a design draft of 9.35 meters. It has a carrying capacity of 9,100 cars, has 14 decks and is equipped with one low-speed dual-fuel main engine and three dual-fuel generators.

It is the world’s most environmental-friendly car carrier, running on both LNG and conventional fuels, and has been awarded the “Ammonia-ready” and “Methanol-ready” classification symbols by DNV, making it the first carbon-neutral ship in the car carriers market.

It is reported that the ship is the third in a project of dual-fuel and zero-carbon ready Aurora-class car carriers built by CMHI Haimen shipyard for Norwegian shipowners.
