EPS places another order for two 7,000 CEU PCTCs in China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing)

On January 25th, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) officially signed and delivered the third dual-fuel 7,000 CEU car carrier to Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS).

It is reported that it is the third 7000 PCTC delivered ahead of schedule after China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) delivered No.1 and No.2 to the owner on October 31 and December 13, 2023.

It is worth mentioning that, based on the good cooperation between the two sides and outstanding product quality, before the delivery of the PCTC, EPS signed an additional contract with CMI Nanjing Jinling yard for two another PCTCs, increasing the number of ship ordered to 12.

Designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), the 7000 PCTC has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, and is classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). It is equipped with 12 car decks, of which 8 are fixed and 4 are movable, with a design capacity of more than 7,070 standard parking spaces, which is suitable for loading traditional fuel or new energy vehicles, trucks and trailers, etc., and has a strong cargo-carrying capacity and a large degree of loading flexibility.
