On January 20, Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. delivered the fourth LNG dual fuel 7,000 TEU container ship “ZIM OPAL” and the third 16,000 TEU container ship “MSC IDANIA” to the shipowner SEASPAN on the same day.
The LNG dual-fuel 7000TEU container ship “ZIM OPAL” has an overall length of 272m, a beam of 42.8m and a depth of 24.6m, and it is equipped with Type B 9-nickel steel LNG fuel tanks.
The 16000TEU container ship “MSC IDANIA” has an overall length of about 366.0m, a length of 355.4m between the two columns, a beam of 51m, a depth of 30.2m, a design draught of 14.5m, a structural draught of 17.0m and a speed of 22 knots.
The container ship features 10 cargo holds, 1000 TEU (deck) + 400 TEU (cargo hold), and can carry a maximum of 16,616 standard containers. It meets the development trend of ultra-large container ships in terms of environmental protection, energy saving and high efficiency. Equipped with EGR, the main engine of the vessel meets the Tier III emission standard. The container ship is fitted with a desulphurization tower to meet sulphur emission requirements and is also equipped with a world-leading air dampening system.
