Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Delivers 13,500 DTW heavy-lift multi-purpose vessel “UHL FRESH”

On January 23rd, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), delivered the first 13,500 DTW heavy-lift multi-purpose vessel “UHL FRESH”, built for United Heavy Lift (UHL), a German heavy lift shipping company.

The vessel measures 149.99 meters in overall length, 25.6 meters in beam, 6.8 meters in design draft, 15.3 knots in service speed, and is classed by DNV. The vessel is equipped with the world’s first new main engine with SCR denitrification treatment device, which can meet the Tier III emission requirements for NOX and the latest SOX emission requirements.

Meanwhile, the vessel is equipped with two 450-ton cranes, which can load various sizes of heavy equipment to meet various loading requirements and the latest emission requirements, featuring green, energy-saving and environmental protection.

The 13,500 DTW heavy-lift multi-purpose vessel, known as “Hercules of the sea”, is a classic product built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. So far from 2018, the shipyard has built a total of 13 vessels in 3 batches, forming a leading edge in this specialty vessel field.
