ZPMC kicks off 30,000 m3 class rake suction dredger project

On January 19, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (Group) Co.(ZPMC) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project of 30,000 m3 class rake suction dredger built for CCCC Tianjin Dredging.

This dredger project is a double engine, double propeller composite drive, and the hull is steel streamlined. The dredger has an overall length of 195 meters, a beam of 38.5 meters, a depth of 18 meters, an endurance of 12,000 nautical miles, a self-sustainability of 25 days, unlimited navigable area and with a maximum dredging depth of up to 120 meters.

The dredger integrates advanced technologies such as ultra-large dredging depth, ultra-strong breaking and ultra-long-distance rowing, which can be adapted to both harbor and waterway dredging and maintenance works, sand extraction and blowing works, deep sea pipe trench construction and backfilling works.

This project will fill the blank of China’s suction dredgers with capacity above 30,000 m3, and greatly enhance China’s core competitiveness in the international market of high-end dredging field.
