On January 10, the world’s largest single-compartment 13,000 m3 B-type LNG bunker tank built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd(DSICEM) was completed and delivered, marking that Dalian Shipbuilding Industry co.,ltd.(DSIC) has fully possessed the capability of independent R&D, design and construction of B-type bunker tanks.
This B-type LNG bunker tank is the core equipment of LNG dual-fuel powered 16,000 TEU container built by DSIC for MSC. Each container is equipped with an independent B-type bunker, and this delivery is the first tank of the B-type of this series vessels.
According to introduction, the tank is designed and built independently by DSIC, with completely independent intellectual property rights. The capacity of the tank is 13,000 m3, and the main material is NV9Ni/a steel. It is classified by DNV.
The LNG bunker is another major breakthrough in the key technology of LNG bunker construction after completed the industrialization of C-type LNG tanks, and it is also an important milestone for DSIC in the development of marine LNG equipment industry.
