Italian container shipping company Kalypso Compagnia di Navigazione is now in liquidation.
Kalypso Compagnia di Navigazione has been paralyzed by the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. Meanwhile, a chartering conflict has erupted between Kalypso and Zhonggu Shipping, which has refused to allow four of its 2,518 TEU container ships to dock in Israel. The ships are deployed on the Marco Polo route linking Asia and the Mediterranean.
Kalypso is said to be the liner shipping subsidiary of Italian freight company RifLine, which was founded in 2021 to enter the Asia-Europe trade during the New Crown Pandemic.
