China’s first electric-propulsion composite stainless steel chemical ship launched

Recently, Zhejiang Dongpeng Ship Building And Repairing Co., Ltd. successfully launched the 6,400 DWT electric propulsion composite stainless steel chemical tanker “Dingheng 30”, which built for Shanghai Dingheng Shipping Technology Co.

It is reported that the ship is classed by China Classification Society (CCS). The ship has an overall length of 111.98 meters, a beam of 17.60 meters, a depth of 8.90 meters, a deadweight of 6,400 tons and a design speed of 15 knots. It is the first chemical tanker made of electric propulsion composite stainless steel in China.

The ship adopts DC automatic grid-connection and permanent magnet synchronous motor as the main propulsion power, which provides good energy-saving and emission reduction effect in the power system. Moreover, the ship’s cargo hold is made of composite stainless steel plate, which greatly reduces the construction cost.

The successful launching of the vessel has laid a solid foundation for building more and better efficient energy vessels in the future.
