Beihai Shipbuilding begins construction of another 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier

On December 26, a ground breaking ceremony was held for Vessel No. 39 of the 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier project constructed by CSSC‘s Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding.

This vessel is the first vessel in the series of vessels cooperated by Beihai Shipbuilding and MOL, and it is also the dual-fuel vessel type constructed by Beihai Shipbuilding again after the “H-Line” project in Korea. The vessel is designed with an overall length of 300m, a beam of 50m, a depth of 25.2m and a structural draught of 18.4m, which is optimized for the structure and overall arrangement compared with the H-Line project.

As a new generation of “green” ship type independently researched and developed by Beihai Shipbuilding, it has successfully entered the mainstream shipping market of Japan and South Korea by virtue of better fuel oil/gas economy and low emission advantages.

Now, Beihai Shipbuilding has realized the batch production of 210,000-ton LNG dual-fuel bulk carriers, which has improved its market share and competitiveness in the new energy bulk carrier market.
