On December 21st, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd,(SWS) a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), successfully commenced the construction of H1600, an 8,600 CEU double-fuel car carrier (8,600CEU DF PCTC), which built for CITIC Financial Leasing.
H1600 is the first 8600CEU dual-fuel car carrier built by SWS for CITIC Financial Leasing. The vessel is classed by DNV and CCS, and is designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI). The vessel has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a design draft of 9.2 meters and a design speed of 19.0 kn. Meanwhile, it is equipped with a MAN B&W 7S60MEC10.5-GI-HPSCR main engine, which meets the TIER Ⅱ/Ⅲ specification.
H1600 is the first PCTC vessel built by SWS. SWS has established a complete project management system and production organization structure and prepared a detailed construction plan. Now, the detail design of the vessel is more than 88%, and all the production preparations are on schedule.
