Recently, COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore held a strike steel ceremony for the main hull construction and integration project of FPSO N1166 RAIA.
The FPSO RAIA is based on Mitsui’s M350 design. The FPSO has an overall length of 340 meters in main dimensions, a beam of 64 meters, a depth of 33 meters, living quarters for 158 persons, a design service life of 30 years, and is classed by DNV. The total weight of the hull steel structure is about 70,000 tons, the net weight of the hull and living quarters is about 90,000 tons, the net weight of the upper modules is about 45,000 tons, and the total weight of the project after integration is about 135,000 tons.
The FPSO is designed to store 2 million barrels of oil and has a daily capacity of up to 126,000 barrels of oil as well as 16 million cubic meters of natural gas. The vessel will feature combined cycle gas turbines, significantly reducing carbon emissions during operation.
The FPSO RAIA will be the first project in Brazil to process natural gas offshore and connect to the national gas pipeline without further onshore processing.
