On December 18, the 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier No. 18, which built by CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. for South Korea’s H-Line, was successfully delivered.
“HL HOPE” is the second LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier of the same series to be built and delivered by Beihai Shipbuilding, and the first vessel “HL FUTURE” was delivered on October 26th this year.
“HL HOPE” was designed by China Ship Design & Research Center Co., Ltd. and built by Beihai Shipbuilding. The ship has an overall length of 299.95 meters, a beam of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters, a structural draft of 18.4 meters, a service speed of 14.0 knots, and is classed by DNV and KR.
The ship’s main engine, generator and boiler are LNG dual-fuel type. Equipped with 2 x 3000m³ LNG tanks (IMO Type C), LNG high and low pressure pumps, high and low pressure gasification heaters, high and low pressure buffer tanks and BOG re-condensing system, the ship’s working range can reach 24,000 nautical miles in gas mode at 12 kn (50%) loaded / 13kn (50%) ballast. NOx emission can be reduced by 25%, CO emission can be reduced by 30%, CO2 emission can be reduced by about 20%, sulfur oxides are close to zero emission, EEDI is more than 47% below the baseline value, which meets the EEDI Phase III emission requirements.
The vessel has been verified by the dock test and sea trial, and all the indexes meet or exceed the contract requirements and reach the international advanced level, which has been unanimously recognized by the shipowner and the two major classification societies.
