On December 13th, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co.(SWS) under CSSC held a completion and certification ceremony for the IMO Type B simulation module, which is independently developed, designed and built by SWS.
At the ceremony, the representatives of five major classification societies, namely ABS, BV, CCS, DNV and LR, issued certificates of approval for the company’s B-type simulation module. The LNG Type B simulation module developed, designed and built by SWS has been unanimously recognized by major classification societies.
The capacity of the B-type simulation cabin is 48 cubic meters. The shape and node type of the cabin and gas chamber are consistent with that of the real ship, and the material is 9NI steel. The completion of this simulation cabin verifies SWS’s ability to independently complete the whole process of B-type cabin design, manufacturing and quality control, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the real ship.
