On November 28, a signing ceremony for the construction contract of two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers between Fujian Shipping Company and XMXYG Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (XMXYG SOE) was successfully held.
The 64,000 DWT bulk carriers signed for construction are ultramax vessels, which can achieve higher efficiency with lower power consumption, promote energy saving and emission reduction, and help realize the goal of “double carbon” through the upgrading of main engine technology and the optimization of hull line shape.
Meanwhile, this ship type features shallow draft advantage, excellent route adaptability and excellent cargo loading capacity, which is the best choice for foreign trade routes and coastal long-haul routes.
