Bahri, Saudi Arabia’s top shipping company, has signed a charter agreement with South Korea’s Sinokor for two newbuild Aframax tankers.
Bahri, one of the world’s largest owners and operators of very large crude carriers (VLCCs), will charter the 115,000 DWT Jill Glory and Sabrina Glory for two years under the agreement.
Both vessels are equipped with scrubbers and were built by mid-sized South Korean shipyard K Shipbuilding (formerly STX Offshore & Shipbuilding) at a daily rate of $42,000 each. The vessels also come with a one-year extension option of $40,000 per day, according to the shipbroker.
