GTT announces that it has received an order from its partner the Korean shipyard HD Hyundai Heavy Industries for the tank design of 17 new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers, on behalf of a leading LNG player.
The series of vessels, measuring 299 meters in length, 46.4 meters in width and 26.5 meters in height, will be built at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Ulsan Shipyard and are scheduled to be delivered sequentially to their owners in the second half of 2029. GTT will design the tanks of these 17 vessels, which will each offer a capacity of 174,000 m3. The tanks will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT.
The delivery of the vessels is scheduled between the first quarter of 2027 and the third quarter of 2029.
To note, in 2023, three major South Korean shipbuilders, including HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, have ordered a number of orders for storage tanks for LNG vessels from GTT.
