On November 15, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), signed and delivered the first 15,500 TEU container ship (H2760) “MAERSK CLEVELAND” to Seaspan. The ship is expected to leave the shipyard on November 16th.
The container ship’s chimney is arranged on two islands, and the total number of containers reaches 15,456, among which the number of refrigeration containers is 1,400. The MAN8G95 main engine is equipped with exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) and the generator is equipped with SCR, so that the emission of nitrogen oxides can meet the IMO Tier Ⅲ emission requirements. Also, a hybrid desulfurization tower is installed to more flexibly adapt to the emission requirements of sulfur oxides in different scenarios.
In terms of energy saving and emission reduction, the generator is equipped with an exhaust gas boiler to generate steam. In addition, the ship is equipped with an AMP system, which can reduce the use of generator and exhaust gas pollution at the terminal, and it is a new generation of environmentally friendly conventional fuel container ship.
