Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding and Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry under Fujian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co. have secured an order for the construction of four 41,000 dwt oil and chemical tankers from an undisclosed European shipowner.
The construction contract came into effect on November 1 and construction will commence at Xiamen Shipbuilding Heavy Industry.
Each 41,000 dwt oil/chemical tanker has a length of approximately 199.00 meters, a molded width of 32.20 meters, and a molded depth of 16.6 meters. It has a design draft of 11.10 meters, a structural draft of 12.00 meters and a deadweight of 41,000 tons at design draft. The vessel design complies with the latest environmental requirements of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) regulations.
