On November 4, China’s first large cruise ship “Adora Magic City” was officially named and delivered. Tickets for the maiden voyage were put on sale on September 20, and it is expected that the maiden voyage will take place on January 1, 2024.
The ship,which built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS)，is 323.6 meters long and 37.2 meters wide, consists of 107 systems, 55,000 sets of equipment, 25 million components and parts, 4,750 kilometers of cables, 365 km of pipelines and 120 km of air pipes. It can accommodate a maximum of 5,246 guests with its 2,125 guest rooms. Equipped with a living and entertainment area spanning 40,000 square meters, the vessel is a modern city on the sea.
The hull of the cruise ship is painted in a rich Chinese style, inspired by Dunhuang frescoes and an innovative interpretation of oriental cultural flavor. The 16 floors of the superstructure of the cruise ship have a wealth of leisure facilities such as theaters, specialty restaurants, shopping plazas, art galleries and water parks.

The Grand Cruise is known as the crown jewel of the shipbuilding industry, which integrates the most advanced shipbuilding technology, the best materials, engine technology, electronic technology, communication and navigation technology, and hotel engineering technology. The delivery of “Adora Magic City” marks that China has become a country with “three jewels” in the shipbuilding industry, which can simultaneously build aircraft carriers, large liquefied natural gas carriers and large cruise ships.
