Cyprus-based bulk carrier and boxship owner Castor Maritime is selling two of its Panamax dry bulk carriers for a total of $20.55 million.
Castor, which currently owns a fleet of 20 vessels, is reportedly selling the 2001-built Magic Sun and the 2008-built Magic Phoenix for $6.55 million and $14 million. The vessels are expected to be delivered to an unnamed buyer in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Castor said it expects a net gain of $1 million from the sale of the Magic Sun, while the Magic Phoenix, which Castor purchased in August 2021 for approximately $17.85 million, will be sold for a loss of Sold at a loss of $2.6 million.
In September, Castor sold the Magic Argo, a 2009-built Kamsarmax bulk carrier, for $15.75 million, with net proceeds of approximately $3 million.
