Dalian Shipbuilding FPSO-10 Project Commences Construction

Recently, CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding started the construction of EREAWITTU FPSO Tanker Hull and Living Building Construction Project (FPSO-10) project for MODEC.

This project is the fifth FPSO deployed by EXXONMOBIL in the Stabroek field offshore Guyana, and is the first Guyana FPSO project in which MODEC, as the general contractor, and Dalian Shipbuilding, as the hull subcontractor, are jointly involved. Dalian Shipbuilding is responsible for the design and construction of the floating hull section, living quarters and module piers of the FPSO.

The Uaru FPSO, named ‘Errea Wittu’, will be Guyana’s fifth offshore FPSO and will be deployed approximately 200 kilometers offshore Guyana in water depths of 1,690 meters and will be capable of storing approximately 2 million barrels of crude oil, by using the SOFEC Extended Mooring System. The Uaru FPSO features a MODEC M350 newbuild general purpose hull and will be capable of producing 250,000 barrels of oil per day with an associated gas handling capacity of 540 million cubic feet per day with a water injection capacity of 350,000 barrels per day.

Dalian Shipbuilding indicated that it will take this commencement of construction as an opportunity to ensure the efficient performance of the project. The commencement of this project will be another important milestone for Dalian Shipbuilding to deepen the international large-scale offshore project market.
