According to the Ji’an Municipal Transportation Bureau, since 2025, Ji’an Jiangnan Shipbuilding and Wan’an County Shipping Company Ship Repair Yard have successfully signed orders to build 14 LNG new energy ships with a total construction cost of 140 million yuan.
This marks an important breakthrough in Ji’an City’s new energy ship construction field, and the local ship manufacturing industry has entered a brand new stage of development.
Since its establishment in 2015, Ji’an Jiangnan Shipbuilding has been committed to building the most competitive shipbuilding enterprise in the region. Located on the Ganjiang River, the yard has complete facilities and a fixed asset investment of nearly RMB 80 million. It is the only general steel ship manufacturing enterprise in central and southern Jiangxi that meets China’s shipbuilding industry standards for Grade II Class III steel general shipbuilding enterprises.
Ji’an Jiangnan Shipbuilding covers an area of 40 mu, with 11,000 square meters of buildings and 10,000 square meters of open-air slipway. Currently, the yard is building three 88-meter-long, 5,000-ton LNG new energy ships, which are expected to be delivered in June this year. These energy ships use LNG as a single fuel, which not only reduces the emission of harmful substances, but also reduces energy consumption and operating costs through optimized hull design and advanced navigation technology, bringing higher economic benefits to the shipping industry.
It is worth noting that Ji’an City has made every effort to help shipbuilding companies solve key issues such as land use and financing. At present, Ji’an Jiangnan Shipbuilding has launched a 20 mu land expansion plan, and Wan’an County Shipping Company Ship Repair Yard is also actively carrying out land rights confirmation work. These measures have provided strong support for the expansion of production and efficiency of enterprises.
