Another major casualty at a Korean shipyard.
Korean media reported that at 8:35 a.m. on April 24, a worker, A (in his 60s), was knocked down by a 4.5-ton crane that was working at high altitude at a shipyard located in Tongyeong District, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, South Korea. A was taken to the hospital immediately after the incident due to cardiac arrest, but eventually died.
It has been confirmed that the crane driver performing the aerial work was not drunk or driving without a license.
Currently, the Tongyeong Police Station is investigating the crane driver for suspected fatal injury under the Special Traffic Accident Handling Act.
