Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Delivers LNG Dual-Fuel PCTC “Guijiangkou” Three Months Ahead of Schedule

On April 24, the 7,500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) “Guijiangkou” built by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry for BOCOM Leasing was named and delivered three months ahead of the contract period.

The PCTC is operated by Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping under COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. It’s first voyage will be put into the East and South Africa route, loading various passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and construction machinery vehicles from domestic ports to South Africa and other countries.

Guijiangkou is an LNG-powered Post Panamax Ro-Ro vessel, which meets the highest standards of NOx and SOx emissions, the latest requirements of IMO EEDI Phase III, the EU Shipbreaking Convention, etc., and has excellent safety, environmental protection and portability.

The vessel has an overall length of 199.9m, a beam of 38m, and a design draft of 8.65m. It has 13 car decks, of which 9 are fixed and 4 are movable, providing 7,500 standard parking spaces. The internal connection between decks is achieved through fixed/movable ramps, which enables efficient loading and unloading of vehicles and meets diversified transportation needs.

It is worth mentioning that this vessel is the 33rd PCTC delivered by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry, and also the 6th Post Panamax Ro-Ro vessel with clean energy power, which fully demonstrated the hardcore strength of Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry in high-end shipbuilding and green technology research.

Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping is the only international automobile shipping platform under COSCO SHIPPING Group. Since July 2024, it has successively received 12 newly built LNG dual-fuel PCTCs, covering 7,000 CEU, 7,500 CEU, and 8,600 CEU PCTCs, and strives to build a world-class green and efficient PCTC fleet.
