On April 23rd, Fujian Southeast Shipyard (Southeast Shipyard), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), successfully delivered a 18,500DWT oil chemical tanker (Hull No.DN18500-3) 167 days ahead of the contract period.
This type of vessel has a total length of 149.8 meters, a beam of 22.8 meters, and a designed draft of 8.5 meters. It is mainly used to transport product oil, vegetable oil and bulk chemicals (Class II and Class III) with a test flash point of ≤60°C that meet the requirements of the IBC specification.
It has the characteristics of shallow draft and large cargo capacity, meeting the requirements of unlimited navigation areas. The vessel adopts the methanol dual-fuel reserved design concept, meets the IMO Tier III emission standards, and can be upgraded to use clean energy methanol fuel in the future.
It is understood that Southeast Shipyard has achieved both standardization of batch construction and improvement of quality stability in the construction of the oil chemical tanker, achieving the excellent result of delivery 167 days ahead of the contract period.
