Changhong International Launched An 115,000 DWT Product & Crude Oil Tanker

On April 19, CHB3002, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard (Changhong International) successfully launched CHB3002, the second 115,000 DWT product/crude oil tanker built for EPS.

It is reported that the vessel is the achievement of cooperation between Changhong International and CIMC Ocean Engineering Design & Research Institute (CIMC ORIC), and is a new generation of LR2/Aframac tanker designed based on the latest specifications and rules. The vessel has an overall length of 249.9 meters, a beam of 44 meters, a depth of 21.5 meters, a structural draft of 15.2 meters and a maximum deadweight of 115,000 tons.

The vessel’s straight bulbous bow design balances the design draught and structural draught, ensuring excellent navigational performance and effectively reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Equipped with the latest generation 6G60ME main engine, large propellers, vortex fins and energy-saving ducts, the vessel has significantly improved its propulsion efficiency, and the sustained power of the Nominal Continuous Rating (NCR) has been reduced by 10% compared with similar vessels at the same design speed.

In addition, the vessel has greatly improved its stability and cargo hold volume, with excellent empty vessel weight indicators and an upgraded cargo hold loading capacity of up to approximately 132,000 cubic meters.

Changhong International said the 115,000 DWT tanker series has gradually become the company’s main products, and the hand-held orders have increased to 27 vessels.
