On April 16, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) is stepping up the construction of various types of fuel tanks and cargo tanks for European, American, Japanese and domestic customers at the quay, and the welding and grinding sounds at the site are endless.
At present, the liquid tank products produced by CIMC SOE cover 2,000 square meters to 40,000 square meters of single hull, double hull Type-A, Type-B and Type-C tanks, which are widely used in the green shipping field, such as LNG bunkering vessels, PCTCs and container vessels. It is understood that the company’s production tasks in the first quarter have been fully completed, and orders have been scheduled until 2028.
So far this year, CIMC SOE has announced two new vessel orders from China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing) and Belgian shipowner Somtrans.
On January 27 this year, CIMC SOE was awarded CDB Leasing four offshore support vessels, with a unit price of not more than $30 million per vessel and a total price of not more than $120 million.
On April 10th, CIMC SOE announced that it has signed a contract with Belgian ship owner Somtrans for a 20,000m³ LNG bunkering vessel, which will be delivered in April 2027. With an overall length of 160 meters, a beam of 25 meters and a design speed of 15.5 knots, the vessel is not only equipped with a WINGD dual-fuel main engine with iCER technology, but also can be equipped with an optional high-voltage shore power system, which can significantly reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions during the vessel’s life cycle.
