On April 17, Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding officially held a steel cutting ceremony for a 7000HP azimuthing-stern drive (ASD) tug built by for the Offshore Oil Ship Center of Sinopec Shengli Oilfield Branch.
The ASD tug is a multi-functional guard tugboat with a total length of 56.0 meters, a beam of 14.6 meters, a depth of 6.9 meters and a designed draft of 4.5 meters. It has twin engines, twin shafts and twin fully rotating adjustable pitch rudder propellers. It can tow forward no less than 80 tons and reverse no less than 72 tons, with a cruising range of 3,600 nautical miles and a self-sustaining capacity of no less than 30 days.
After completion, the tug will be used to assist LNG vessels in entering and leaving Longkou Port, and for emergency duty and fire monitoring during berthing at the port. It has service functions such as anchoring, towing, pushing, towing, and safety duty for large offshore equipment and facilities, and can provide material supply services and personnel transportation for offshore drilling, offshore operations, oil production platforms, floating cranes and other facilities.
