On April 17, Chinese shipbuilder Taizhou Jianxing Heavy Industry officially kicked off construction of the 17,500 DWT multi-purpose vessel jointly developed by Baosheng Marine HK Co. and Denmark’s Norden Group.
The vessel was designed by Baosheng Marine HK, with a total length of 145 meters, a beam of 22.6 meters, a depth of 15.2 meters, a structural draft of 8.3 meters, and a speed of 14.5 knots.
It is a multi-purpose vessel specially designed for the Danish Norden Group. It has undergone a new design optimization in terms of overall size, overall layout, line shape, structure, cabin layout, system and equipment, meeting the requirements of the third phase (Phase Ⅲ) of the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI).
Compared with traditional multi-purpose vessels, this vessel has a more optimized energy consumption per ton-mile, which is in line with Baosheng Marine HK’s environmental protection development concept. At the same time, the vessel design greatly improves the cargo suitability, and can load containers, large cargoes with extra-long dimensions, etc. It can also significantly reduce the blind spot of the bridge and increase navigation safety.
As a professional company of multi-purpose vessels, Baosheng Marine HK will adhere to the development concept of excellence and green shipbuilding to develop and provide customers with more efficient and environmentally friendly multi-purpose vessels.
