On April 17, a naming ceremony for the 174,000 m3 LNG carrier “AL TUWAR” was held at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
“AL TUWAR” is the 50th LNG storage and transportation equipment built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, the 5th vessel of the same type completed and delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for QatarEnergy’s historic LNG fleet expansion program, and the latest fifth-generation “Changheng Series” LNG carrier independently developed and designed by the shipbuilder.
The LNG carrier “AL TUWAR” combines the latest design concepts, the best technical equipment, the strongest environmental protection performance, and the most forward-looking features. It is a vivid embodiment of the technical strength and innovation ability of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), and highlights the leading position of CSSC in the field of high-end shipbuilding. It provides strong equipment support for the global energy transportation industry.
