On April 16, the first 14,000 TEU container ship (Hull No. H2789) in the series built by CSSC’s Jiangnan Shipyard for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and supervised by BAL Container Line CO., was officially named “MSC ANGOLA” and delivered.

This 14,000 TEU container ship series is the “Kun” series of large container ships independently designed and developed by Jiangnan Shipyard, which is characterized by high efficiency, green and energy-saving, etc.

The ship was delivered 22 days ahead of schedule, and the actual dock period since it was launched was only 65 days, setting a record for the shortest time for the construction of a conventional fuel container ship. It is worth mentioning that this ship is the first large container ship to complete full-ship simulated digital test container + simulated container stacking before launchng, setting a new benchmark for the construction and testing of large container ships.

It is worth mentioning that, according to Alphaliner data, with the recent deliveries from Chinese shipyards, MSC’s number of container ships has exceeded 900, making it the first container shipping company ever with a fleet size of more than 900 ships.
