ROC Cuts Steel for 4th SPP40 PSV with DP2 & Battery Tech

Recently, Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (ROC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries Co., Ltd, successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for SPP40 Platform Supply Vessel (PSV, Hull No.N1056) in its in-house workshop, marking another solid step for ROC in the field of high-end offshore vessel shipbuilding.

As a new generation of environmentally friendly PSV that meets the needs of the international market, the SPP40 platform supply vessel has unique advantages in design and technical application. It has a total length of 81.75 meters, a beam of 17.4 meters, a depth of 7.8 meters, a maximum draft of 6.3 meters, a deadweight of 4,000 tons, and is equipped with DP2 and a replaceable containerized power battery system.

It is understood that the N1056 vessel that started construction this time is the fourth vessel of the same type built by ROC. Prior to this, ROC had started construction of two SPP40 vessels last year and achieved the milestone of Keel laying, simultaneously. In March this year, it worked hard to start construction of another vessel. In March this year, ROC started construction of another vessel, and all the vessels that have been started are currently under intensive construction.

In February this year, Rainbow Heavy Industries announced that its subsidiary ROC had renewed its contract with China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing) for two SPP40 platform supply vessels. Together with the two vessels that had already been started, the number of SPP40 PSVs signed by the two parties has reached four.
