Qidong Jisheng Shipbuilding Breaks Ground for SDARI-Designed 26,000DWT Eco-Chemical Tanker

Recently, Qidong Jisheng Shipbuilding kicked off the construction of 26,000DWT oil and chemical tanker for Zhejiang Huayou Shipping.

The 26,000 DWT oil and chemical tanker was independently developed and designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI). The vessel has a total length of 156.7 meters, a beam of 26.8 meters, a designed draft of 9.5 meters and a designed speed of 13.5 knots. It adopts non-CSR optimized design, and through line optimization and intelligent longitudinal control system design, the fuel consumption is 3% lower than that of similar vessels under the same loading and speed conditions.

The main engine saves 0.5 tons of fuel per day, superimposed EEDI exceeds the third-tier standard in advance. The annual average nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions of a single vessel meet the TIER III standard.

The volume of the liquid cargo tank is 3% larger than that of the mainstream ship type; it is equipped with an intelligent energy efficiency monitoring terminal, which can optimize the matching of the navigation speed, cargo load and energy consumption in real time, enabling the traceability of emissions throughout the entire life cycle.

The oil and chemical tanker is recognized by the global shipping industry as a high-tech, high-performance and high-added ship type, and its design and construction is an important symbol of the comprehensive strength of the national shipbuilding industry.

This 26,000 DWT tanker has the characteristics of low emissions and high adaptability. It has enhanced energy-saving indicators while improving operational efficiency, effectively achieving a double breakthrough in cost control and low-carbon environmental protection, and a double improvement in loading capacity and intelligent management and control.
