Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Kicks Off Construction of Two Vessels

On April 10, Chinese shipbuilder Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) successfully cut steel for the 7,000TEU container ship H1353 for Taiwan’s Wan Hai Company and the 114,000DWT Aframax product tanker H1456 for Turkey’s YASA Company.

Classed by China Classification Society (CCS), H1353 vessel has an overall length of 272.00 meters, a beam of 42.8 meters, a depth of 24.6 meters, a design draught of 13.0 meters and a design speed of 21.0 kn. The vessel is equipped with MAN 7G80ME-C10.5, which meets the Tier III specification.

Classed by Lloyd’s Register (LR), H1456 has an overall length of 249.95 meters, a beam of 44.0 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, a design draught of 13.5 meters and a design speed of 14.5 kn. The vessel is equipped with a MAN B&W 6G60ME-C10.5, which meets the Tier III specification.
