Recently, Suzhou DYPOS Marine Engineering Ltd. (DYPOS Marine Engineering) announced that its first domestically produced dynamic positioning control (DP) system – DYPOS DP5000, has successfully passed the factory acceptance test (FAT) of China Classification Society (CCS). This groundbreaking milestone marks a new stage for DYPOS Marine Engineering in the development of the DP market in China.
The DYPOS DP5000 series DP system successfully obtained the CCS type approval certificate in 2024 and passed the CCS SL0 onboard cyber security certification, which complies with the IACS UR E27 requirements for the toughness of shipborne systems and equipment networks.
The system combines mature technology advantages with localized production and currently provides CCS certified DP-1 and DP-2 control systems that meet the standards of the International Maritime Contractors Association (IMCA).
The DYPOS DP5000 system design focuses on remote technical support to minimize maintenance requirements, thereby reducing shipowners’ operating costs. In addition, the system supports customized configuration production and is suitable for a variety of ship types and working conditions. It is worth mentioning that all services are supported by a local professional engineer team to ensure efficient response and high-quality service.
DYPOS’ DP solution also includes an IMCA Level B/C compliant simulator, as well as training facilities for DP operators and crews.
In the future, DYPOS plans to expand its production base to meet the market demand for high-performance DP systems, continue to expand its global service network, and launch a series of innovative products and solutions.
