World-Class 1,300-Ton Double-Girder Gantry Crane Lifted at Changhong Shipyard, Boosting Ultra-large Vessel Production Capacity

On April 2, a major construction milestone was achieved at Zhoushan Changhong International Ship Repair & Construction Base—the main beam lifting operation commenced successfully for the 1,300-ton × 146-meter extra-large double-girder gantry crane project.

This project is contracted by Nantong Rainbow Heavy Machineries Co., Ltd. (RHM) as the general contractor, with Shanghai Chuangwei Construction Engineering serving as the construction executor.

The gantry crane has a total weight of about 4,180 tons, a total height of 108 meters, a span of 146 meters, a lifting weight of up to 1,300 tons, and a lifting height of 76 meters. It has extremely strong lifting capacity and high stability, and can meet the lifting needs of future ultra-large ships such as the 20,000 TEU container ship construction at the Daishan base.

The 1,300-ton gantry crane is Changhong International’s largest gantry crane at present. After it is put into use, it will effectively alleviate the load pressure of existing equipment, greatly improve the dock lifting capacity and work efficiency, better meet production needs, and provide a solid guarantee for Changhong International to achieve its output value target.
